Imam Muhammad al-Asi presented this at the ABIM course on ‘Islam and Human Rights’ in 2012, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Imam goes into great detail about the colonisation of language and in particular the importation of ideas of humanness versus the idea of a social being (insan). He speaks of the dignity given to everyone by Allah swt and what that means in terms of ‘human rights’.
