The UJN Declaration On the challenges and priorities of Islam and Muslims 1438 / 2016, known in short as the Penang Declaration is the outcome of a several day meeting held in Penang, Malaysia in October 2016. The meeting saw activists, academics, thinkers and ulema from around the world set out a list of priorities for Muslims world-wide and put together a commitment to bring forth resources that will help Muslims work towards the realisation of some of the goals set out in the declaration.
These priorities include revitalising Islamic economics, education, working for the decolonisation of knowledge, tackling the social engineering of Muslim identities by western projects, and working for the revitalisation of Islamic morality and thinking.
